    😮 That is some footage! I wonder how long it had been since the previous train went along that track, given how much snow had built up there.

      Well it’s not a particularly heavily used railway line, the passenger tourist train runs twice a day (once each way) and maybe the odd freight train with coal between Christchurch and Greymouth but for the most part our railways aren’t anymore, everything is pretty much on the road. So that snow would have been an overnight dump, it’s very high up in the Southern Alps through one of the passes. Beautiful really.

        It is beautiful. I adore snow. 🙂 That amount of snowfall in just one night is almost unthinkable to us here but then we descend into chaos when we get about two flakes fall!
