Chairman Pip's Railway Thoughts

Train of Hope

Posted in Great Britain, Other general stuff about railways by Chairman Pip on 7 June 2011

Never let it be said that I don’t do my civic duty. Last week, I got a request to follow someone on Twitter with the ID @trainofhope. This is a project organised by a group train drivers based at Manchester Piccadilly to run a charter steam train to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity designed to help children with cancer and their families. This idea has been off the ground only for a short time, but is scheduled to run on the 1st October, so clearly there is a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it. You can read more on the Train of Hope website, a link to which I have put on the homepage of this blog, attached to the group’s logo. This is a worthwhile task that these guys have set themselves, so if there is any way any of you, faithful readers, can give them a hand, by dontaing money or, perhaps more importantly to their operation, time or resources, then drop them a line.
